 "ROOKIE-BALL"

HGSL and Halifax Youth Baseball will team up to coordinate Rookie League.
Girls in grades Pre-K & Kindergarten and Boys born 5-1-12 to 4-30-13 can participate in "Rookie" division. Rookie division is designed to give young players a FUN, age appropriate introduction to the game of Softball. It will consist of one 45-60 minute session per week on Friday evenings at Vaughan Playground. The format will be similar to that of Dynamite Soccer; each session will begin with players being taught the basics..throwing, catching, base-running, hitting, etc and some will conclude with players being broken up into teams for a 'game". Softer "safety" balls will be used, and again the emphasis is on FUN. Boys & Girls from ANY area town are welcome to participate.
Players will receive a jersey & visor.
ROOKIE Division will be held on Friday evenings 6pm-7pm at Vaughan Playground.

"FARM League"

Players in 1st & 2nd grades participate in "Farm" League. Players play 1 game per week and 1 practice. Players are placed on teams and emphasis is on continued development of Softball skils in game situations.
Players will receive a team jersey & visor.
FARM LEAGUE games are primarily played on Sunday afternoons at Vaughn Playground. Teams will play teams from Plympton, Kingston & Pembroke as well. Each team will have a set practice time, usually on an early weekday evening.

"MINOR League" 


Players in the 3rd & 4th Grades will compete in the  "Minor" League. First introduction to competitive softball, similar to Junior division, but with age appropriate rules.  Halifax teams will participate in the Old Silver Lake League. Home games will be played at Vaughn Playground and Away games will be at other neighboring towns. MINOR League teams will play approximately 2 games per week. Each team will practice once per week, usually an early weekday evening, based on field and coach availability.

Games are played on Sunday afternoons, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

"JUNIOR League" 


Players in the 5th & 6th grades will participate in the "Junior" League. This is our 2nd level of competitive Softball. Players are drafted onto evenly competitive teams and begin playing "real" games. Teaching the game, as well as advancing players' skills continue to be stressed, along with winning and losing. Halifax teams wil participate in the Old Silver Lake League. Home games will be played at Vaughn Playground and Away games will be at other neighboring towns.  Players receive a team jersey & visor.


JUNIOR LEAGUE teams will play two games per week, primarily on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sunday evenings. Each team will practice approximately once per week, day depending on coach's & field availability.

"SENIOR LEAGUE"


Players in grades 7th-12th grades may participate in the "SENIOR"League . Halifax teams will participate in the Old Silver Lake League. Home games will be played at Vaughn Playground and Away games will be at other neighboring towns.  Players receive a team jersey & visor.
 All High school aged players are eligible and encouraged to participate (girls chosen for a High School VARSITY team are NOT eligible for this division).

Players receive a team jersey & visor.
Teams play two games per week, however nights may change each week due to the large # of teams. SR Teams will only practice occasionally.
